TRIGLAV NATIONAL PARK Triglav National Park is the only national park in Slovenia. It got its name from Triglav, which rises the highest (2864 m) in the heart of the park and is also the highest Slovenian peak.
It covers 840 square kilometers, which is four percent of the area of Slovenia. It belongs to the oldest European parks; the first protection dates back to 1924, when the Alpine Conservation Park was founded.
